Marc Shanker
Marc is an unschooled, self-taught artist. I use paint, crayons, collage, mixed media, intaglio and dry point to make art that comments on social attitudes, and existential quandaries: alienation, isolation, and the search for meaning.
Marc is also the founder of GRAVITY FREE PRESS, the publisher of Traces of Sepharad, a book of forty-five interpretive etchings of Sephardic proverbs with literary and scholarly essays in Spanish and English.
