ARTIST STATEMENT:
I use drawing and painting as a means of discovery. My style is childlike, sometimes whimsical but the underlying issues are existential. I use humor, irony and contradiction. I bring diverse and apparently unconnected imagery and symbols together into new syntheses. Sometimes I use words and images together to bare multiple meanings, unnoticed associations, and new ways of interpreting what appear to be familiar images. I challenge the viewer to interpret and experience the painting.
